Jesse Cooke Launches Folkstore: A New Online Directory to Connect Local Creatives and Businesses in Duluth, Minnesota, and Beyond

Duluth, MN – Local Duluth designer and web developer, Jesse Cooke, has rolled out Folkstore, a new online directory to connect local makers, artists, and creative professionals with local businesses looking for talent in the area.

The Folkstore website allows creative businesses to get their information listed for free while providing searchers with a list of creatives in the area based on the category and location they’re searching. Current regions include Duluth, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Bemidji, and Fargo with categories ranging from graphic and interior designers to photographers, copywriters, web developers, and more.

"As a fellow creative, I wanted to give creatives and businesses an even playing field in their respective region that's not driven by obscure metrics while also creating a community of like-minded individuals that can connect and collaborate together. Unlike SEO or algorithm changes that can make the digital space challenging to play in, I created Folkstore to be an inclusive space that all creatives and businesses alike could benefit from, " said Jesse Cooke, owner and operator of Folkstore.

Going forward, Folkstore is looking to include more locations, additional listings, and the ability for creatives and businesses to connect in real-time based on their needs. "When local businesses utilize local talent, they’re not only helping build a strong sense of community in their city, they’re also directly impacting the local economy, and that’s a big deal," Cooke said.
